The Penn State Wind Energy Club would like to thank the following companies and Penn State organizations for their support in the team’s preparation for the 2018 Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition.

The Penn State Wind Energy Club introduces students of varying disciplines to wind energy. We work to involve students in a hands on way to learn about the various aspects of the wind industry

Our club will once again be participating in the Department of Energy’s Collegiate Wind Competition. This year’s competition involves the design and construction of a small wind turbine that will be brought to the 2020 Cleanpower conference in Denver, CO to compete against 12 other Universities. This year we are exploring improvements in the structural integrity of the system design to withstand 25 m/s winds during testing in the competition as well as improving our electrical system.

The team will also be developing a design for a 100 MW wind farm in Eastern Colorado.
