Sponsors

The Penn State Wind Energy Club would like to thank the following companies and Penn State organizations for their support in the team’s preparation for the 2023 Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition.

The Penn State Wind Energy Club introduces students of varying disciplines to wind energy. We work to involve students in a hands on way to learn about the various aspects of the wind industry

Our club will once again be participating in the Department of Energy’s Collegiate Wind Competition. This year’s competition involves the design and construction of a small wind turbine that will be brought the competition in Boulder, CO in mid-May to compete against 12 other Universities. This year we are tasked with designing an offshore turbine to be installed in a tank of water and sand.  The turbine will be put through a series of tests that will test the structural integrity of the design as well as its overall efficiency.

The team will also be developing a design for an offshore wind project off of Port Forchoun, LA in the Gulf of Mexico.
